Veteran

We are looking for Veteran Volunteers to join our Veteran to Veteran Volunteer Program.

This program aims to pair Veteran volunteers with our Veteran hospice patients. Veterans volunteers have the distinct ability to relate and connect with Veteran patients thereby creating a safe environment where life review and healing can occur. What will the Veteran Volunteer do?

Veteran Cafe's:

We also ask the Veteran Volunteers if they could attend Veteran Cafe's at various facilities to help our Veteran patients. The Veteran Cafe's helps to promote companionship with patient and community members to bond with each other and offer a safe place for the Veteran to talk about their experiences.

If you are a Veteran with a passion for caring for others and looking to serve your fellow Veterans, consider becoming a Veteran hospice volunteer.

Our volunteers are an important part of our hospice care team, helping to improve the quality of life for our Veteran patients, their families and their caregivers.

Beacon Hospice offers free virtual training to all volunteers.

If interested, please contact Helen Burgoyne, CDP,CHHA, Regional Volunteer Coordinator, Amedisys
