Thank you for your interest in volunteering at one of our PetSmart locations. Volunteers help us feed, clean and socialize these cats. The AM shift is 8:00-12:00 and the PM shift is after 5:00-9:00. This means the visit can be anywhere within those time frames.
Here is a list of stores we are in: City Place (75204), Greenville Ave. (75206), Lakewood (75214), Mesquite (75150), Denton (76205)
We need volunteers that can donate 1 hour to 1.5 hours a shift per week or more if you would like.
Volunteers clean cat kennels and make sure they have food, water and a clean environment.
Volunteers provide our cats with socialization and enrichment.
Volunteers report signs of illness or behavior problems.
Some volunteers do once a week and some do more than one. This is strictly up to you and what you can do!
If this sounds good to you please fill out the application: https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?ap=1806491195 Once you fill this out we will let you know if you are approved. From there you will tell us your day or days you would like to help take care of our cats. There is no fee for this and we provide all the training.
We do ask you keep in contact with us about the cats. Letting us know of any adoptions or if our cats are not feeling well. Please call 214-461-1886 or email with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org. We would prefer this be an ongoing opportunity and not sure a short term volunteer. If you need shifts off just let us know!
The SPCA of Texas is dedicated to providing every animal exceptional care and a loving home.
The SPCA of Texas is the leading animal welfare agency in North Texas. We operate two animal shelters, located near downtown Dallas and in McKinney, which, together with our community partners for offsite adoptions, find homes for more than 6,000 animals each year. We do not euthanize animals for lack of space and we do not place time limits on animals housed in our shelters. We also operate public veterinary clinics in West Dallas, South Oak Cliff and McKinney to provide high-quality pet care at affordable prices and we collaborate with community partners to spay or neuter tens of thousands of animals each year.
In a typical year, our five-member Rescue and Investigations team responds to 2,000 calls and rescues more than 1,000 abandoned or cruelly treated animals in 8 North Texas counties. Our education and outreach programs reach more than 20,000 Texans each year with a message of compassion and responsibility.
Our independent non-profit organization is not affiliated with the ASPCA or any other humane society and we do not receive taxpayer funding. Your support helps us make life better for more than 50,000 animals and the people who love them - right here in our community.
