For over a year, GMHC's staff have been providing nearly all services to clients remotely, with a couple of exceptions. We have recently been distributing food pantry bags from our lobby every Wednesday, as well as offering by-appointment-only HIV/STI tests at The Testing Center.
Like so many others, our staff have been providing services to our clients during this difficult time from their own homes. This new normal of working from home because of the COVID-19 pandemic has meant that in addition to their workload, staff are also acting as teachers for their children who are learning remotely and providing additional care and support to family and friends.
To offer a quiet break during the week for our staff, I am seeking a volunteer who can provide guided meditation approximately twice a month via zoom.
Please note that all volunteers are required to complete a background check. We will need your consent and it will only be initiated after you have completed the volunteer orientation, application, and interview. We will require proof of a certification and/or prior guided meditation experience.
GMHC’s Mission: GMHC fights to end the AIDS epidemic and uplift the lives of all affected. We provide HIV and STI testing, food and nutrition programs, housing support, workforce development, legal assistance, advocacy for benefits and health insurance, mental health and emotional support, substance use counseling, and more.
