Girls on the Run Orange County inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. We are seeking a volunteer to help with Public Relations.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development of our Public Relations Strategies and plans

Develop press releases and other communications in collaboration with the Programs Coordinator and Marketing Team

Support planning of public relations events

Complete research on the best ways to connect and communicate with stakeholder organizations, like the department of education, school districts, PTAs, press / media, etc.

Develop and maintain a contact list for relevant Orange COunty media and stakeholder contacts

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Experience working in Public Relations

Experience working with Orange County, CA media in securing coverage

Experience working with nonprofits is a plus

Ability to commit 5-10 hours per month to volunteer
