As a Mercy Housing CA volunteer, you can help to create healthy, stable and vibrant communities. Using your passion for community, with a little bit of time, you can do a lot of good.
We’d love for you to join us in sorting and packing and distributing groceries and making good things happen. Some heavy lifting (30lbs) is entailed. If you have restricted movement, please let us know and we’ll make accommodations.

"I’m surprised to find that the people most down on their luck have been the ones giving back what little they have to give, because love and kindness have been shown to them."
-Heather, Mercy Housing CaliforniaVolunteer in Folsom"I have learned through volunteering that we are each uniquely gifted and by using our gifts we can be a part of something so much bigger than us - social justice and building healthier communities. I’ve also learned that not using my gifts is not an option."
-Tara, Mercy Housing California Volunteer in Sacramento
We will practice safe social distance protocols, and we ask that all volunteers wear sturdy tennis shoes or boots and bring a mask and gloves.

About Mercy Housing California

Mission Statement
To create stable, vibrant and healthy communities by developing, financing and operating affordable, program-enriched housing for families, seniors and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities.
Description
Mercy Housing was founded in 1981 in response to the lack of stable, affordable housing for vulnerable populations. In working to fulfill our mission, Mercy Housing California has developed more than 154 affordable housing communities in 36 counties throughout California, providing 17,000+ homes and serving over 24,000 people in need.
Mercy's commitment to program-enriched housing distinguishes us from many other large scale affordable housing developers. Housing is foundational - everyone needs a home. But many people who have endured poverty and other challenges need an additional hand-up to create the lives they want for themselves and their families. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work with residents right in their homes and neighborhoods on issues like health and wellness, housing stability, financial security as well as provide a full range of enriching out-of-school time options for youth.
