ORGANIZATION: Sound Generations

Volunteers are needed to support United Metals’ Scrap Metal Drive supporting Sound Generations’ Food Security Programming. Volunteer jobs will include directing traffic, helping sort smaller metals, and helping to ensure we are keeping to COVID-19 safety regulations. The event is from 8am-4pm and we will specific 2-hour time slots available to volunteer. You may sign up for multiple times if you’re interested. As a volunteer you’d be expected to wear closed toed shoes, ankle covering pants, and a face mask. If you have safety glasses, or a safety vest please bring them.

Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Description

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.

Our services, and volunteer opportunities, are located at multiple sites throughout King County.
