Volunteers Are The Heart of Hospice

Heartland Hospice needs compassionate volunteers that will sit with a patient that is "actively dying". We believe that no one should die alone. It is called NODA. This means the last hours of a patient. It is the last stage of a patient that is ready to leave this world. Death is a natural process and we have some patients that do not have family or friends at the end of their life. Our goal is to help enrich in the final hours. The majority of the patients will If you are someone who care and has compassion for those who are passing this would be a wonderful experience for you. You mostly sit quietly next to them, you can put your hand on theirs, we can play soft music, and also you can read to them. There is a two hour minimum . The Volunteer Coordinator organizes a schedule so we rotate volunteers.

We have a training on June 12th via zoom if you are interested in joining.

Heartland Hospice has patients in Tucson and Green Valley areas. A vigil training is given to you so you are prepared to be a 11th hour volunteer.

About Heartland Hospice

2005 De La Cruz Blvd., suite 271, Santa Clara, CA 95050, US

Mission Statement

We believe our mission is to enrich lives. That begins with every life we encounter: Our employees, our patients, and those who love and care for them, the communities in which we operate, our stakeholders and those who are yet to become our customers.

Heartland Hospice is a 501(3)(c) organization made up of a dedicated team of Nurses, Home Health Aides, Spiritual Coordinators, Social Workers, Bereavement support, Medical Directors, office staff, and volunteers that desire to give a full circle of care to patients with advanced stage illnesses.

Volunteers are the most important component in helping the staff give a full circle of care to our clients. They can visit clients in their home or facility, give caregiver relief, make crafts and gifts items for the clients, office support, and much more...

Without volunteers our clients would lack in receiving the love and care they need during their most difficult journey.
