Music is a wonderful interpersonal process that can affect our physical, emotional, mental, social needs and help to improve or maintain overall health. It is especially effective with dementia patients. Music communicates and arouses emotions, brings comfort and provides connections. It is helpful for both patients AND their loved ones.
Heartland Hospice is looking for volunteers that can play soft comforting music to our patients. You must have your own instrument and be 18 years or older to visit patients. If you love music or can play an instrument, share your love and talent for music with patients at the end of their life journey.
Volunteers are the heart of our hospice team. We depend on our hospice volunteers to help us provide the extra love and care our patients and their families need at this time in their life.
Benefits to volunteering:
- Flexible schedules
- Learn new skills
- Meet new people
- Make a difference in the lives of others
- Rewarding - Gives more than it takes
- Healthy - Long-term volunteers have longer lives, less disease and better overall health
- It's fun!

Mission Statement
We believe our mission is to enrich lives. That begins with every life we encounter: Our employees, our patients, and those who love and care for them, the communities in which we operate, our stakeholders and those who are yet to become our customers.
Description
Heartland Hospice is a 501(3)(c) organization made up of a dedicated team of Nurses, Home Health Aides, Spiritual Coordinators, Social Workers, Bereavement support, Medical Directors, office staff, and volunteers that desire to give a full circle of care to patients with advanced stage illnesses.
Volunteers are the most important component in helping the staff give a full circle of care to our clients. They can visit clients in their home or facility, give caregiver relief, make crafts and gifts items for the clients, office support, and much more...
Without volunteers our clients would lack in receiving the love and care they need during their most difficult journey.
