Many children go without much needed care while they wait for approval into programs, such as Medi-Cal's HCBA Waiver Program, designed to get them caregivers or nurses at home.

We are a new nonprofit aimed at helping children with life-altering illnesses get this in-home care until their applications are approved and their state-funded care begins.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Because we are a new non-profit, we would love to find an experienced person to help us navigate these early stages and either directly lead our efforts, or at minimum provide consultation on how to best move forward.

Ideal abilities include:

  • Planning, organization, and direction of the organization’s operations and programs.
  • Oversee and report on the organization’s results for board of directors.
  • Advise on major systems implementations.
  • Ensure that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of Universal Kids Foundation to provide access to family-centered care to children in their place of residence during episodes of illness or injury as well as during the end-of-life process.

Description

Universal Kids Foundation is a volunteer-powered organization with the goal of assisting families of children with life-altering illness.

We will work with families in need by providing access to companions, Certified Home Health Aides, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Registered Nurses. With great care and sensitivity, Universal Kids Foundation will assist families by covering the costs associated with hiring in-home services ranging from skilled nursing to assistance with daily activities and personal care, such as:
- Medication management
- Ventilator, tracheostomy, g-tube care and management
- Monitoring of blood pressure and other vital signs
- Wound care
- Bathing and dressing

We understand the hardships that disabilities, illnesses, and injuries can have on these young patients and their families. We will strive to do everything we can to accommodate them as best as we can. This includes helping them access tailored services that meet their individual needs and placing a premium on compatibility between nurse and patient.

Universal Kids Foundation has an understanding and appreciation of the multilingual and multicultural community that it serves.
