The Great Plains Food Bank regularly needs volunteers to help process about twenty percent of the food we distribute to our 235 partner agencies each year. Last year, nearly 5,500 volunteers donated over 18,000 hours to the Great Plains Food Bank. Our volunteers sort, label, and repack donated and bulk foods and assemble boxes and bags for special programs. Our goal is to provide the best possible volunteer experience for each of our volunteers.
Individual volunteer opportunities are available Monday-Thursday 8:30-11:30am & 1:30-4:30pm. Group volunteer opportunities are availble during business hours and after-hours Monday-Thursday & Saturdays. Contact our volunteer coordinator to get scheduled today!

The Great Plains Food Bank has been a program of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota for the past 33 years. During that time, we have impacted many lives through the good work of our collaborative social efforts. The Great Plains Food Bank will be transitioning away from LSSND effective July 1, 2016. We are looking forward to ending hunger across North Dakota and Western Minnesota as an independent organization.
