In an effort to address learning loss and support the social-emotional development of our young people, PPSC Mentor Me has developed an Academic Mentoring program to support these students. Academic Mentors will be paired with a 9th -12th grader to work on specific subjects while supporting their self-management, relationship-building, and organizational skills. Students do not need to currently be part of Mentor Me to be nominated. This program is just what our young people need to ensure that they can succeed in school and graduate.
Volunteers are vetted and trained and commit to meeting with their Academic Mentee 2 hours a week for a semester. The Academic Mentor's training session will be on Zoom but our academic mentorships meet in person.
