Academic Mentors Needed for Junior High and High School Students

Save to Favorites

  • 7 people are interested

In an effort to address learning loss and support the social-emotional development of our young people, PPSC Mentor Me has developed an Academic Mentoring program to support these students. Academic Mentors will be paired with a 7th - 12th grader to work on specific subjects while supporting their self-management, relationship-building, and organizational skills. Students do not need to currently be part of Mentor Me to be nominated. This program is just what our young people need to ensure that they can succeed in school and graduate.

Volunteers are vetted and trained and commit to meeting with their Academic Mentee 2 hours a week for a semester. The Academic Mentor's training session will be on Zoom but our academic mentorships meet in person.

About Mentor Me

426 8th Street, Petaluma, CA 94952, US

Mission Statement

Mentor Me empowers youth in need to achieve their highest potential by matching them with an adult mentor. We envision a world where every child in need has a mentor.

Mentor Me is a 18 year old nonprofit that helps at-risk youth achieve their best in school and in life by matching them, one on one, with caring, adult volunteers from the community. Operating in four Petaluma and Novato school districts and serving youth aged 5-17, the organization currently has over 350 active school-based mentorships in place, with 106 youth waitlisted. Mentors are asked for a 2 year commitment to spending at least an hour a week with their mentees. Mentor Me provides training and year round support.
