Open your heart and home to a teen needing a safe, temporary place to stay!

Host homes are an immediate, short-term solution for youth who are needing a safe place to stay due to a variety of factors such as poverty, family conflict, gender identity or sexual orientation. Host homes provide a welcoming environment for a youth to stay in their own community while Cocoon House staff mobilize to reunite the family or identify a long-term housing solution. The typical stay is 21 days or less.

Connections Program staff will be with you and the youth every step of the way. We invite individuals or families (of all different types) in Snohomish County, WA to be part of the solution to youth homelessness in your own community. Whether you could provide a stay for a couple of nights or a few weeks, we would love to talk with you!

To learn more about our Connections Host Home Program contact us at hosthomes@cocoonhouse.org or call 425-529-4944 to speak with our Host Homes Specialist.

Mission Statement

The mission of Cocoon House is to empower young people, families, and the community to break the cycle of homelessness through outreach, housing and prevention. This mission supports the belief that every young person deserves a home and the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential. We accomplish this mission through our core values.

Description

The comprehensive approach of Cocoon House ensures that each young person is met where they are, physically and emotionally. Young people connect with Cocoon House staff in our programs, in their schools, or out on the street. Parents are provided with services to help keep their teen in the home, or provide the smoothest transition possible if the teen is returning home from homelessness. This scope of service allows Cocoon House to ensure that every child has a home and a future.
