Volunteers are an integral part of hospice care. Whether it's providing companionship to a person in the final months and weeks of life, offering support to family members and caregivers, or helping with community outreach, the contributions of volunteers are essential to the important work provided by our hospice team.

Now is the time to become a hospice volunteer and learn more about what we do! We are currently following Covid precautions for our state, and training our volunteers in the office. As more people are getting vaccinated we will be starting to resume direct patient opportunities very soon! Volunteers enhance the comfort and quality of life for our patients and families.

Some examples of typical volunteer duties are:

  • Providing companionship to a patient and their family
  • Being a comforting and supportive presence
  • Providing respite time for patient's caregivers
Hospice also relies on volunteers to help with administrative work as well. Some duties in-office are:
  • Data entry. general office
  • Mailing and photocopying
  • Community outreach and education
  • Answering telephones
  • Assisting in coordinating support services

As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do. Contact us to discuss the volunteer opportunities that could work for you!
