Three to four times a year, the Placentia Library Friends Foundation hosts a 2-day bookstore sale extravaganza in the library’s community room (usually Saturday 9-12, Sunday 1-3 PM).
We are looking for a volunteer to own and lead these events, working with the Placentia Library Volunteer Coordinator, teen volunteers, Board members, and other community volunteers to make it happen and raise funds for the library.
Responsibilities include
- Create marketing materials for the events..Instagram posts and fliers using Canva or another program; post on CraigsList and other sites
- Ensure volunteers staffed at each event by coordinating with the Board and Library Volunteer Coordinator who create signups
- Prepare books to be sold, in coordination with other volunteers
- Lead and help direct volunteers to setup and run event
- Join our board and attend monthly meetings (live or via zoom - second Monday of each month 6:30-8:00).
2022 Event Dates:
Apr 8 setup, Apt 9&10 book sale
July 8 setup, July 9&10 book sale
Sep 9 setup, Sept 10&11 book sale
We are looking for someone who can commit for at least one year.!

The purpose of the Placentia Library Friends Foundation is to assist Placentia's public library through enhancing its programs, raising funds for operating capital and endowment, managing the endowment for the benefit of the Library, promoting volunteer programs, and providing educational and cultural opportunities for its membership and Library users.
Description
The Placentia Library Friends Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt membership organization incorporated in 1970 and reorganized in 2007. It supports Placentia Library through volunteers and grants of money for programs and services.
The Friends Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership at its Annual Meeting.
In its recent reorganization the Friends Foundation expanded its Mission to include raising funds through major gifts and bequests, establishing endowment funds, applying for grants from corporations and foundations and financing capital projects for Placentia Library District.
