The Volunteer Driver is to serve and support our food pantry to be able to provide food to our clients.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Complete comprehensive training
  • Pass a background check
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull object such as food items, food boxes, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Being ok with driving a cargo van
Position Description:
Duties are to drive to Food Share Ventura (food bank) to go "shopping" for food for food pantry. Duties include checking in and checking out with Food Share staff and selecting food that is needed at our site. Volunteers would need load the food onto the van, and then unload the food at our site.

Time Commitment:
Weekly commitment, Tuesdays from 9:45am-12:45pm

Training will be provided

Our goal is to aid low-income individuals and families going through an emergency crisis with a holistic approach through acquiring basic needs, financial assistance, emotional support and case management.

We offer emergency assistance to individuals and families going through an emergency crisis. Services include:
  • Food pantry
  • Hygiene kits
  • Utility assistance
  • ID Replacement
Also offers seasonal services such as back to school, camp registration, and Christmas gifts.
