The Volunteer Driver is to serve and support our food pantry to be able to provide food to our clients.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Complete comprehensive training
  • Pass a background check
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull object such as food items, food boxes, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Being ok with driving a cargo van
Position Description:
Duties are to drive to assigned local grocery stores in Simi Valley to pick up food that is donated to our site for food pantry. You would need to check in with the grocery store receiver, load the food onto the van, and then unload the food at our site. You will need to document the poundage, food type, and temperature of donated food when picking up from grocery stores and when dropping off to our site. Lastly, you will need to sort and organize all donated food items at our site.

Time Commitment:
Weekly commitment depending on the shift you sign up for

Also offers seasonal services such as back to school, camp registration, and Christmas gifts.
