About:

Looking for a volunteer role that combines your brilliant people skills and administrative talents with your enthusiasm for making a difference? Traveling Stories is a nonprofit organization like no other - uniquely focused on delivering amazing reading experiences to reluctant readers.

Traveling Stories is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in San Diego that was founded in 2010. Our mission is empowering children to achieve their dreams. Traditionally we’ve done this through an in-person model, but because of COVID-19, we’ve moved to offering services online.

Our new Virtual StoryTent program matches children in Kindergarten through second grade with a mentor for weekly, one-on-one reading sessions via video. Children earn Book Bucks for every book read and then use their Bucks to buy prizes through our online store. The program is six weeks long with new sessions beginning every other month.

The Help Desk Supervisor is our newest internship/volunteer opportunity! The incredible person in this position is the glue that connects our new program’s many moving parts on session days and the key to making sure our growth is systematically sustainable!

  • Virtually supervise Help Desk Volunteers during sessions

  • Send reminders to Help Desk Volunteers
  • Problem solve
