My husband Luis and I created SoulPhamm, a sports and arts program for kids in New York and New Jersey. The goal of SoulPhamm is to create engaging and unique competitive and performing experiences for young people who have had a very difficult and trying year due to the pandemic. In January, 2021 Luis, my partner and very best friend, died suddenly and although the loss hurts, I am compelled to open SoulPhamm and now dedicate it to his memory. But I need help!
I am looking for a volunteer coach to work with our newly developing girls' cheerleading program from October, 2021 to June, 2022. Coaches who serve a full season with us (9 months) are eligible to receive a weekly stipend if they return the following season. You will join an outstanding coaching group in leading the team. We have a junior team (ages 8 to 12) and a senior team (ages 13 to 17)
This season, our team will be located in a school on West 112th Street near Lenox Avenue in Harlem. Practices are ONLY held on Saturdays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm starting in October. As this is a school, the city will require ALL volunteers to evidence at least one dose of the vaccine.
Coaching experience is NOT required. A sense of humor is also very important.
Interested candidates should respond telling me about their cheerleading experience.

Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.
Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation. The SoulDeevas will include programs that provide activities, resources and support during critical out-of-school time hours in a safe, nurturing environment that works from a strengths-based, youth development perspective.
