  • Take photos of cats -- for science!

    This summer, we're conducting an outdoor cat survey or census in partnership with Kitizen Science. This is to better understand the size of the outdoor cat population in addition to creating a metric to measure the success of TNR programs like the one Tree House offers!

    We're looking for volunteers to help between May 19 - June 29! Working in pairs (sign up with a friend!), volunteers will follow assigned routes in Humboldt Park from 5:30-8 pm.

    Your only task? To take photos of any and every outdoor cat you see and upload them using the Kitizen Science app.

Admission/Adoption: Tree House’s primary mission centers around the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of sick, injured, abused, and neglected cats. Since our founding in 1971, Tree House has rescued and adopted more than 25,000 cats.

Spay/Neuter Program: Tree House has sterilized several thousand animals through public spay/neuter as well as our Community Cats/T-N-R (trap-neuter-return) program.

  • Orientation or Training
  • Several 2-3 hour walking shifts over a 2 week period May 19-June 29 from 5:30 pm-8 pm.
  • Adults over 18 who like cats and feel comfortable with technology/smartphones and walking in the Humboldt Park area for a 2-3 hour period of time, rain or shine. There is no previous experience needed with citizen science or research!
