Thanks to generous community support, the MLK Community Center in Newport, Rhode Island now offers a hot grab & go Breakfast every weekday. So, we need help with meal prep! We're seeking volunteer chefs to help prepare meals in advance. SafeServ certified preferred, but anyone with the desire & capacity to prepare hearty meals in batches of 50 is welcome. This can be done in the morning or ahead of time, so you don't have to be a morning person, either!

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center is a safe, caring environment offering educational, social, and recreational services and opportunities to persons of all ages and cultures. Description

We are a multi-service agency with the area's busiest food pantry and the only daily meal program for our neighbors in need, plus educational enrichment programs for children and youth from preschool to high school. As a Community Center we host hundreds of community activities and events for other organizations and groups, and offer referrals to other agencies and services whenever necessary.
