**Do you need Volunteer Hours? And/Or do you love reading but have an unpredictable schedule? This position is perfect for you! **

Position Description:

Join our Traveling Stories team and help us ensure that our Virtual StoryTent program runs smoothly. As a Help Desk volunteer, you will help our young readers get into their Google Meet session, send a text reminder (through our software) to late parents, and monitor report responses. You will always have a supervisor available to assist if anything is not going as planned and training is provided so you are fully prepared for your first shift! This position is simple, but is essential for our many reading sessions to run smoothly.

Flexible Schedule:
-Sign up for the shifts you are able to cover

Requirements:
-Reliable: show up for the shifts you sign up for
-Comfortable using Google Meets or willing to learn how to use Google Meets
-Able to watch a 15 minute training video before your first shift
-Pass a background screening (if over 18 - cost $17.50) or have a parent/guardian sign a permission slip (if under 18 - done through DocuSign)

Resources Provided:
-Training video & flow chart that will walk you through what to expect during a shift
-Template text message (you do not use your own phone when texting parents, you will use our texting software)
-Sample responses to children/Reading Mentors for the minimal contact you will have with them
