VIRTUAL: Handmade Cards for Homebound Seniors

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: HandsOn Bay Area

San Francisco Meals on Wheels has been distributing handmade cards to the homebound seniors and disabled adults they serve since 1970! Join HandsOn Bay Area in this virtual opportunity to create handmade cards for Meals on Wheels clients and show our elderly community that you care - all from the comfort of your own home!

Volunteers will meet on Zoom (link to be provided upon registration) for the event kick-off. HandsOn Bay Area will facilitate a brief introduction to the Meals On Wheels organization, as well as an orientation to the activity. Volunteers will make cards for MOW clients for one hour. After our card creating power hour, we will close the event with a group reflection.

Volunteers will be responsible for mailing their finished cards to HandsOn Bay Area. Additional details and direction to be provided during the project.

Materials Needed:
- computer paper or cardstock for creating the cards
- pen, pencil, markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc. (NO glitter / materials that will easily fall off)
- ONE envelope to mail all of the cards
- postage stamp(s)
