Come hang out with us at Orem Summerfest!

The Orem Summerfest Committee is looking for individuals or groups willing to help out with the parade banners during this year's Orem Summerfest. Come spend a few fun-filled hours with us!

Description: A parade judging assistant helps distribute voting supplies to the parade-entry judges at the parade staging area.

Age Requirement: must be at least 14 years old or be accompanied by an adult.

Qualifications Needed: No previous experience necessary. This position is ideal for friendly people who have access to a cell phone (to coordinate with the parade coordinator). Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.

Time Commitment: 2 hours.

Work Location: meet at the check-in booth located near the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building at 800 South 800 East in Orem.

Training: A brief training session will be held when you arrive for your shift.

Support: Parade judging assistants will primarily report to Liz Woolf at 801-636-1957 or lwoolf82@gmail.com.

Uniform: Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Bring a jacket in case of inclement weather.

Benefits: In addition to the good feelings that come from serving your community, each volunteer will receive a Summerfest T-shirt.

How much time do I need to commit? There is no minimum requirement for most of the opportunities.

What opportunities are available?

-Court-appointed Community Service
-Eagle Scout Projects -Fire Hydrant Painting (available April-October)
-Leaf Raking (available November-April)
-Litter Patrol (available year round)
-Memorial Day Preparation at Orem Cemetery (available early-mid May)
-Orem Summerfest, http://summerfest.orem.org (second weekend in June)
-Park Beautification Projects (available March-November)
-Soil Conservation and Reseeding (available spring and fall)
-Traffic Light Pole Cleaning (available year round)
-Weed Out Warriors (remove invasive weeds from public property

When? Opportunities are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Evening and weekend opportunities are also available. Call ahead to schedule a date and time.

Where will I be helping? There are 20 parks, 5 parkways, 4 freeway interchanges, and 6 building grounds from which to choose. Call ahead to pick a location.

What should I wear? Long pants, a shirt with sleeves, sunglasses, and shoes that completely cover the toes are recommended.

What should I bring? A water bottle and a pair of work gloves is all that is needed. All other tools will be provided.
