Our tutors will be working with K-12 BIPOC students. I created a "Culturally Responsive and Trauma-Informed Course" for my tutors so that they can best meet the needs of our students. All of my tutors have already completed a 1.5-hour onboarding process and a 2-hour roundtable on "Teaching Metacognition, Executive Functions, and Interpersonal Skills." Many concepts will overlap, especially those related to social-emotional learning. All of this is unpaid, so I am trying to make it as efficient as possible.
I have already spent hundreds of hours researching and composing the content for this course and the pre-and post-reflections. I just need someone to review it before I start delivering it to our tutors.
I am seeking a professional experienced in working with BIPOC children to review the content of the following:
- Pre-Reflection - To get tutors thinking about their own biases and teaching practices.
- Course - To provide a framework for the training as well as an easy-to-use resource my tutors can refer to later.
- Post-Reflection - To collect data for grants and also narratives to demonstrate growth.
