The coronavirus pandemic has drawn more attention to achievement gaps in education.
Help fill the achievement gap - become a LEAP summer volunteer!
Work with BGCAZ members ages 5-18 years as we Learn, Engage, Acheive and Progress daily through high-yield (experiential) learning activities in math, science and reading.
LEAP volunteer commitment:
- 3 consecutive week days (Mon - Friday) (3 days per week)
- 4 hours daily (mornings at most locations, 9 am - 1 pm, afternoons at a few locations)
- June 7 - July 16
- Some scheduling flexibility to accomodate short-term vacation schedules
- Limited number of openings for teen volunteers ages 14-17 yrs
- Must pass BGCAZ's required background check - no cost to volutneers for this online process
- Complete BGCAZ volunteer onboarding process
- LEAP program training provided

Description
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Valley (BGCAZ) provides premier out-of-school-time programs for youth to develop their skills and resilience to successfully navigate childhood, and prepare for adulthood. We offer affordable after-school and summer programs for 16,000 young people in grades K-12. At 31 clubs across Maricopa County, areas of Pinal County, and Yuma, BGCAZ provides award-winning programs designed to change the lives of young people in four key areas: Academic Success, Character & Leadership Development, Healthy Living, and career readiness.
