Santa Clara County Parks are hosting sites for National River Cleanup Day!

National River Cleanup is a national day of action to protect our rivers, watersheds, and wildlife from trash and debris. Since its inception in 1991, American Rivers have engaged more than 1.3 million volunteers who have participated in thousands of cleanups across the country, covering more than 261,000 miles of waterways and removing more than 32.5 million pounds of litter and debris.

No special skills are required for this event. Please bring a filled water bottle and sunscreen. Standard adult sized work gloves and pick up sticks are provided but you are welcome to bring your own.

All ages are welcome. If under 14 years old, please contact the Volunteer Office listed below to register for an online account.

Important COVID-19 update
To protect County personnel, the community members with whom County personnel interact, and all residents of the county, the County will require all County personnel (including volunteers) 12 years of age and older to be fully vaccinated, and up-to-date on boosters for which they are eligible**, subject to limited exceptions. Proof of vaccination status shall be provided onsite at the start of service (via paper vaccination card, a photo of that card, or a digital SMART Health Card issued by the State of California). Vaccination status will not be retained or shared. If you wish to apply for an exemption to this requirement, please contact the volunteer office at volunteer@prk.sccgov.org

**Fully vaccinated means it has been at least 2 weeks since a person has completed the entire recommended series of a COVID-19 vaccine. Up-to-date on boosters means a person is fully vaccinated and has also obtained any booster doses of a COVID-19 vaccination for which they are eligible as authorized or approved by the FDA. Click here for up-to-date information on vaccination and boosters.
