Give N’ Grow Sports, Inc., DBA Give N' Grow Basketball (GNG) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that uses basketball to elevate the physical, emotional and mental health of adolescents.

Give N’ Grow Basketball recognizes that depression, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and teen suicide are increasing worldwide, which is why elevating the mental health of adolescents in a productive, uplifting way is GNG’s utmost priority.

GNG has consulted with a bevy of experts in the fields of sports psychology, developmental psychology, childhood education, and therapy and life coaching to ensure that its curriculum integrates the most essential and effective mental health skills for K-5th graders to develop during adolescence: mindfulness and social and emotional learning (SEL).

GNG has combined these key mental health skills with the most popular youth sport in the United States, basketball, to ensure that students are engaged in its programming.

To execute this mission we put on live and virtual events - including holistic health assemblies and clinics - to immediately impact K-5th graders and inspire them to join our weekly virtual WIN Workouts for an ongoing holistic health impact.

This is the perfect opportunity for young professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit who are passionate about impacting the mental, emotional, and physical health of youth, but don’t currently have the years of experience necessary to serve on an established nonprofit board of directors.

As a member of our Next Gen Board, you’ll play a pivotal role in the success of our start-up nonprofit and make an immediate impact with your skillset and presence. This position will give you the nonprofit experience you’ll need to serve as a nonprofit board member in the future - potentially our board!

Our Next Gen Board is a working board that executes projects vital to developing our start-up nonprofit, and because we’re a young and small team, you’ll be making an immediate and massive impact on our organization.

As a member of our Next Gen Board, you must have time weekly to contribute towards projects that are helping us move forward. The time per project varies, but our current Next Gen Board members typically spend approximately 1-2hrs/week on their projects.

In the role of Fundraising lead, your projects will be as follows:

  • Taking the lead on creating fundraising calendar that includes the following initiatives
  • Managing/creating the year end drive in December that will drive massive funding for the organization
  • Taking the lead on 2 crowd funding campaigns per year (September and May) that drive donations on social media
    • Engaging influencers to advocate for GNG
    • Create a plan for what we want to influencers to say/post
  • Managing/creating Quarterly news letters (paper news letters that update potential donors on GNG and ask for donations)
  • Running the yearly March Madness bracket campaign
  • You can also run the lead on recruiting interns/volunteers to help execute these tasks

Commitment:

  • Looking for at least a 1yr minimum commitment
  • It’s hard to determine the hours per week for this position because this is less of a weekly commitment and more project based - as long as you’re executing the project and communicating with the executive director, you’re fulfilling the requirement of the position.

Experience wanted:

  • Fundraising experience - leading and executing fundraising events/initiatives in the past
  • Mindset, passion and success getting money
  • Network of donors is a plus
