As the volunteer you will be given the opportunity to enhance the quality of life for the patient in many ways.
You will be able to provide compassionate support for patients and their families. Volunteers would be providing support to a patient who has a terminal condition and their family. You as the Volunteer would be doing, but not limited to:
- Providing companionship and support to the patient and family.
- Carrying out light house work duties.
- Writing letters or reading to the patient.
- Engaging in the patients hobbies.

Description
Amedisys Hospice is a community based hospice care agency licensed by the State of Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) and Medicare (CMS) and Accredited by Community Health Accreditation Program.
Our goals are is to foster genuine personal connections that offer emotional, psychological and spiritual support by taking an active role in the interests that bring joy to our patients. This strong support system also extends to the patients families, providing them resources and support throughout this journey. The families we work with rate our care highly. 85% if the families said they would recommend hospice services to others and 84% rated overall patient care as "excellent" or "good."
