ORGANIZATION: Shepherd's Center of Northern Virginia (SCNOVA)

  • 14 people are interested

The Shepherd's Center of Northern Virginia (SCNOVA) provides supportive services, educational and social programming, and volunteer engagement for seniors in our community through our dedicated team of volunteers. SCNOVA seeks one-three volunteers to assist in writing grants with our volunteer Grant Committee on possible corporate and foundation funding sources to fund our essential services.

SCNOVA will provide the Grant Writing Volunteer with a list of possible funding sources. The Volunteer will search each identified prospect's website to identify those with established foundations or other opportunities for charitable support. We are seeking to gather information about funding priorities, grant programs, and deadlines. The data and information will be input into a Google spreadsheet.

A person who has an attention to detail, is persistent, and wants to support services for seniors would be an ideal match for this role. Experience with Google Sheets or Excel is preferred. No prior knowledge or experience with grant writing is needed.

This project will require a commitment to 2-3 hours a month for a minimum of 6 months. The Volunteer can work remotely on their own schedule, and we will provide training and ongoing support.
