The donation coordinator takes in donated equipment and/or gives out donated equipment on a no contact basis. The Coordinator will work with the donor or recipient to determine the appropriate time to be at the warehouse.

  • The coordinator is expected to contact the individual donating or receiving the equipment and arrange a mutually convenient time for the individual or family member to be at the warehouse.
  • If the individual is receiving donated equipment, the coordinator is expected to arrive to the warehouse 15 minutes prior to the appointment, retrieve the requested equipment from the warehouse, place it at the front of the building, assure the building is locked up and is expected to wait approximately 100 yards away to ensure the individual received the equipment.
  • Likewise, if the individual is donating equipment, the coordinator is expected to arrive a few minutes early and wait approximately 100 yards away. After the individual drops off the equipment to be donated and leaves, the coordinator is responsible for bringing the donated equipment into the warehouse and ensuring the warehouse is locked prior to leaving.

12636 Bannock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28277, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to acquire and provide mobility related rehabilitative equipment to individuals in need to help them regain lost mobility and maximize their independence and quality of life. Our goal is to establish Assist M.E. as the go-to organization for advocacy on behalf of and providing assistance to individuals with mobility disabilities in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg community.

Assist ME takes in gently used medical equipment, such as standard manual wheelchairs, bedside commodes, tub transfer benches, shower chairs, etc. ), clean them up and gift them to low income, uninsured patients. When patients have this type of equipment, they fall less often and are readmitted to hospitals less often.
