Hello! We are Defend our Children, a School Safety focused Nonprofit that developed and invented the Safe Space Security Desk. We are a nonprofit because most public schools struggle to fund school supplies and school safety is not an inexpensive topic...
We recently changed directions to ramp up our blog and articles writing on school safety topics and scenarios. We are looking for tactical and school administrative minds that can help research and provide articles/blogs that are based in facts and are leading in the school safety field. If you're a police officer, military service member, or school teacher/administration interested in providing your time to help a cause the entire country can get behind (School Safety), then please fill request this poisition.
What I can provide:
- I have 12 pages of topics that range from tactical questions to school improvement suggestions.
- We get a lot of traffic a month to our website. Your writings will not fall on deaf ears.
- The president of the nonprofit is a retired school resource officer and will review any tactical writings. The VP of the nonprofit is currently serving in the US Military.
- To take a topic, research it, and writing leading edge articles.
- If you would like to do a case study on previous school incidents - that is AOK.
- To make your own topic and write articles. We truly need the help!
Currently our blog consist of when we went viral on reddit and other social media platforms a year ago. The remainder are copy/pastes from news interviews.
Will you help us build our blog and help educate the public on school safety? Please review our website and verify our cause is one that aligns with your "want" to help a nonprofit.
If you request to volunteer, I will send you an email with topics and you can reserve 1 or 2 of them. I will manage the topics to ensure two volunteers do not write on the same topic. Of course, you can create a topic lol. We are very mindful of your time.

Mission Statement
Our mission is improve Quality of Life, Health and Safety of Children throughout their educational journey. Our main efforts are to equip schools with Safe Space Desks and work with first responders to improve response. Safe Space Desks provide protection in the event of imminent danger such as school shootings, unexpected inclement weather, bullying and sexual abuse.
