Volunteers are essential to making the Perryville Farmers Market an enjoyable community event by connecting the agricultural community with local shoppers and residents. In response to COVID-19, the market is in need of volunteers to help ensure a safe shopping experience for all.
There are opportunities for:
Market Day Volunteers:
direct vendors to assigned spots as they arrive
assist farmers market shoppers
answer questions
promote programs and events
provide general customer service
assist with maintenance of handwashing station
assist with setup and breakdown, if present and as requested by vendor
help ensure social distancing and mask wearing, and generally help keep the market running smoothly
monitor entrance and exit, help direct traffic flow through designated entry and exit points
process occasional/daily market vendor applications and take vendor stall payments
Communications Volunteers:
Raise awareness about market and promote budget-friendly healthy eating with the farmers market. Depending of volunteer's skills and interests, specific projects may include research, writing, editing, graphic design, photography, video, or website support.
support communications and marketing efforts
help update online calendars and publications
organize press clippings or photo archive
research and/or write articles or other materials for the market
update market information on museum website
distribute posters and flyers to your favorite cafes, shops, and public places

The famous and not so famous stayed at this vital link along an important roadway in American history. The museum share their unique stories.
The Rodgers Tavern Museum welcomes volunteers for many different kinds of work. There are opportunities for volunteers to help with museum collections, serve as history guides to help visitors explore the past, assist with special events, contribute to social media channels and work in the gift shop. The museum needs volunteers with a variety of skills in public relations, administration, retail sales, and cataloging and documenting museum collections.
Some of the benefits volunteers receive include, but are not limited to:
