A Volunteer Delivery Driver and Client

Food is love. Help us deliver to the older adults and individuals with disabilities in our areas -- Northeast Minneapolis, Southeast Minneapolis, and St. Anthony Village. Our enthusiastic volunteers help our clients to remain in their own homes. Even the short contact of delivering a meal creates a real, life enriching connection.

Drivers are needed in Northeast Minneapolis at Waite Park Wesleyan Church at 1510-33rd Avenue NE, Minneapolis 55418. Pick up time is at 11:00 a.m. The routes include approximately 8 to 12 stops and take less than an hour. The time commitment is to deliver at least one route per month.

Drivers must:
  • Be able to carry meal containers and climb stairs
  • Have a Minnesota drivers license
  • Have a car in good condition and car insurance
In addition to providing warm, nutritious meals for our neighbors we sometimes notice problems our clients have and report that back to the office for follow-up. A friendly greeting once a day can be a life saver for some people. NOTE: All applicants are required to pass a background check. Eastside Meals on Wheels in a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We rely on nearly 300 volunteers to deliver over 40,000 meals each year. We protect older adults by helping provide the comfort of a warm delicious meal and the personal contact they need. Our volunteers help seniors and individuals with disabilities remain in their own homes - right where they want to be.
