Open Space Projects Volunteer
The primary purpose of the Westminster Open Space Program is to preserve and protect open space areas. Volunteer work could include tree planting, trail building, fence construction, tree removal, wetland mitigation, landscaping, weed management, etc.
Open Space volunteer projects are held on Saturday, 8:30-11:30 a.m. The dates vary throughout the year, with a project calendar available for registration. Projects are scheduled year-round, weather permitting.
Volunteers are asked to commit for one year. However, volunteers are only asked to register for those projects which fit into their schedules. There is no minimum number of projects or hours required, but incentives are given for volunteer hours worked.
Most projects require 16 years of age or older, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. All abilities are welcome, with training and/or task assignments made before each project.
