Volunteers of America Family Shelter
The Community Assistance Center at 335 Record St.

Volunteers of America in Reno is looking for volunteers to help staff our Resource Center so that our clients can access services. The VOA Resource Center, located at Reno's Community Assistance Center, helps people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. The Center is equipped with computers, telephones, a mail center, resource information, and directories.

Resource Center volunteers will help:

  • sort and distribute mail
  • find resources to post in the Center
  • answer phones and complete other clerical tasks
  • support the staff working in the Center
  • greet clients and help them access services
The Resource Center is open from 9am to 4pm and is closed for lunch from 12pm-1pm. We're looking for volunteers who can either work in the mornings (8/9am-12pm) or in the afternoons (1pm-4/5pm). This volunteer position interacts directly with the public and requires a background check.

We have all "volunteered" to answer the call to serve.
