READING ENRICHES THE MIND AND THE SOUL. Our Adolescent Program seeks volunteer teachers to work with our patients for an hour or so at a time.
About Us:
Northlake Behavioral Health System has been a landmark and a place for hope and healing for almost 50 years, serving those with mental health needs in our community. Over time, our campus has witnessed many changes and advancements in the field of psychiatry and mental healthcare. In 2016, Northlake became a 501(c)(3) not for profit hospital with a mission to provide quality services to individuals with mental and behavioral concerns.
The hospital and its caring team of professionals are valued members of the community, who prioritize giving back through different partnerships and organizations. Our staff provides continuing education and training’s to local clinicians and community members. Northlake is a teaching hospital that provides Louisiana medical and clinical professionals an active and supportive teaching environment.
Our Adolescent Program:
Our inpatient care for adolescents at Northlake Behavioral Health System provides care for all genders and ages 12-17 who are struggling to succeed in school, at home or in their communities due to a mental health challenge. Our program focuses on helping kids and teens find hope for their futures by giving our youth the opportunity to receive acute level care without the stress of external distractions of their everyday lives. We provide a supportive healing environment and give undivided attention in group and individual therapy sessions. Before your child leaves Northlake, our compassionate and caring staff will provide the necessary skills, tools and resources for your child to continue their progress long after they leave our center. Our expert team will personalize a care plan based on a comprehensive assessment of past medical history as well as current challenges, strengths, and goals.
We are currently seeking Volunteers with teaching experience to join our team in aiding students with their reading skills. Volunteers are requested for at least one hour per week.
We adhere to all CDC recommendations for COVID safety.
