As a nonprofit organization, we rely on volunteers to help us accomplish our mission, keeping our effectiveness high and our costs low. Whether you want to help us take care of our protected lands, raise money to save more land, or educate communities about the importance of land conservation, there are many opportunities to make a difference right here in the Escondido Watershed, depending on your interest.
We are currently looking for Volunteers to join our Shrub Club for Fall projects in 2021-2022!
Get outside and enjoy our nature with other passionate volunteers. We’ll remove invasive species, fix trails, and make room for native plants and animals to flourish in the Escondido Creek watershed. Volunteer work can be labor intensive but everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace. Locations vary throughout North County but are often along the creek near Elfin Forest or surrounding open spaces in Escondido. Participation counts toward community service hours.
Volunteers must bring water, hat, and good hiking shoes. Long pants are encouraged for working in thick vegetation. Tools and gloves will be provided but please bring your own tools if you have them. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or chaperone.

Mission Statement
We believe that everyone benefits by being part of nature, not apart from it. The Escondido Creek Conservancy exists to enhance the lives of people and wildlife in our Watershed and we do this by leading, educating and advocating for our natural surroundings.
Description
For the past 30 years, the Conservancy has helped preserve about 3,000 acres of land and is working to preserve an additional 1,000+ acres. Since 1991, the Conservancy has purchased or facilitated the purchase of some of the most biologically sensitive properties in the Escondido Creek watershed. The Conservancy also provides watershed education programs to thousands of youth and adults every year.
While much has been accomplished, there are major challenges ahead. The preserved lands must be managed in perpetuity. A new generation of conservationists must be engaged. Water quality must be improved. Other areas of the watershed need the Conservancy’s attention.
With your help the Conservancy can continue this important work for decades to come. Please join us!
