Helping Hands is looking for volunteers to help with preparing food boxes and children's "backpacks", assist with the food serve (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 11-1:30), organize and sort donations and deliveries, go through food and discard items that are out of date, clean up food areas, assist with the drop-off program or accompany an employee to pick up food rescue items, and more! Volunteer hours are flexible within the timeframe we are open (M-F, 8-5). Some days hours slightly vary.

Description

Helping Hands of High Point is a non-profit agency that provides emergency food and financial assistance for rent and utilities to the local community. We work hard to reach as many people as possible, recently beginning food drives geared towards children, beginning a drop-off program for those in need without transportation, partnering with local businesses in the food rescue program, and more. Volunteers are vital to any non-profit organization and we could use your help! Everyone is welcome and accepted here and hours are flexible. If you are interested in helping serve the High Point community with other friendly faces, this is the place for you!

  • Must be at least 16
  • Flexible hours are available. At least 2 hours per shift is recommended.
  • Volunteers cannot have any serious criminal felony charges. Lifting up to 50 pounds is sometimes necessary. Open and accepting attitude.
