Introduction

Would you like to start Africa Health Organisation (AHO) in the United States of America (USA)? Do you know how to register an NGO in the USA? If you answer yes to both questions, then you are the right person to volunteer as our USA Start up Coordinator volunteer.

We are seeking Volunteer USA Start Up Coordinators to set up executive committees, register AHO with authorities and manage the development of AHO and delivery of its mission in USA:

Main Responsibilities

• Start-up and register Africa Health Organisation (AHO) in USA in every state with top priority as Washington DC, California (Los Angeles), Florida (Miami) New York, etc. We need 50 Coordinators from USA.
• Set up a diverse Executive Committee to sit on the Board. At least one must be MD or a Nurse or public health consultant.
• Write up the constitution of AHO specific to US legislation.
• Register AHO with government and local authorities in USA.
• Developing relations with key donors in USA and expanding the funding base
• Raise funds for AHO in USA for our projects in health and social care in Africa.
• Work with USA government and convince them to fund AHO programmes in Africa.
• Promote AHO and its work to the people in USA and encourage them to participate in addressing health issues in Africa.
• Ensuring positive working relationships with all partners and stakeholders (government ministries, communities, business, NGOs, etc.);
• Arrange medical exchange programmes between USA and Africa such as medical students, doctors, nurses, volunteers.
• Ensure partnership agreements and MOUs are properly prepared, monitored and implemented throughout their timeframe.

Person specification

Prior experience - essential

• Qualification in any subject preferably Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Health, Science, Social Sciences, etc.
• Experience managing organisations.
• Be an American citizen.
• A strong commitment to the aims, objectives and values of AHO.
• Well established and practiced organizational and planning skills; extensive knowledge and experience of charity start-up, registration and governance.
