Set-up a New PVI Technology Project for Seniors
Peninsula Volunteers Inc.
PVI, with the assistance of corporate donors, wants to provide iPads and internet access to seniors not currently connected who have been forced into isolation by the pandemic. Getting them "connected" will help our participants rediscover the joy in engaging with friends and family. In doing so, we will help them combat isolation which often time leads to depression and other health issues.
We're looking for a volunteer who can devote 10-15 hours a week for 6 weeks setting up this project. The volunteer would be a very comfortable with Apple products, proficient on Excel, a good writer, very organized, and patient. They will manage device (iPad) inventory, accessories, set up, enrollment and training for enrolled seniors. Training may include: how to use iPads; how to participate in Zoom and FaceTime; assisting with initial connection and scheduling with Comcast; managing designated 'help’ phone lines; senior outreach; tracking progress and terminating program for seniors not able to participate.
