POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Road2Recovery CNY is a 301(c)3 nonprofit organization, 100% volunteer driven, dedicated to providing funds and sponsoring those with opioid addiction into long-term recovery programs. Under the authority of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will provide oversight and direction to the planning, development, and management of Road to Recovery CNY. Work in collaboration with the Board of Directors, advocates, partner agencies, and other key constituents to execute the mission. The ED will develop deep knowledge of the field of opioid addiction, treatment and long- term recovery, core programs, operations and strategic plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Management:

Ensure the smooth operation of R2RCNY, including financial performance, budget preparation, volunteer management, strategic planning, marketing, program development, policy formulation, and compliance with all relevant government regulations - with the highest ethical standards and quality assurances. Develop, lead, coach, and retain R2RCNY advocate team leaders. Maintain a strong working relationship with the Board of Directors, partner agencies, alumni, grantors, foundations, and contractors - providing verbal or written updates as required. In collaboration with the Board of Directors and senior leadership, plan, develop, implement, refresh and evaluate the 3-5 year strategic plan for R2RCNY. Monitor the success of board-related initiatives through active participation in the preparation of materials and at board meetings and on-board committees.

Fiscal Management

In collaboration with the Advocate Team Leader of Finance, ensure the ethical management and disbursement of funds in alignment with appropriate guidelines and governing laws. Monitors, prioritizes, controls, and projects expenditure of funds to comply with authorized budgets and audit accountability; makes expenditure decisions. Steward the financial viability of the organization through fiduciary oversight of the annual budget, compliance with standard accounting practices, the agency’s investment policy, and coordination of third-party audits of financial records. Assure strict fiscal responsibility of agency budget.

Fund Development

In conjunction with the Advocate Team Leader of Development solicit philanthropic gifts through annual giving, special events, direct mail, deferred giving including wills and bequeaths, and any other board approved campaigns. Develop new and enhance existing revenue generating and fundraising activities to support the budget and financial goals of the organization. Identifies, cultivates and solicits major and planned gifts, and relationships with foundations, corporations, individuals and community organizations. Steward and continue to cultivate donors after all fundraising campaigns. Ensure donor database integrity and appropriate use.

Community Relations and Communications

Serve as primary spokesperson for R2RCNY, preserving the image and brand of the organization while managing and perpetuating the quality and rigor of the programs. Ensure marketing and public relations activities, including the creation of collateral materials, the annual report, newsletters, direct mail and other forms of communication align with R2RCNY’s mission and strategic plan.

Program Management

Ensure ongoing program excellence with consistent evaluations as well measuring program outcomes and challenges that can be communicated to the board, funders, and supporters. Assess additional program needs based on the strategic plan. Offer strong supervision, support and guidance to directors and all agency advocates (volunteers).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree
3-5 years in middle or upper management, with experience working with a volunteer Board
Excellent written and verbal communication and facilitation skills
Knowledge of computer programs and social media platforms
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with many different constituencies.
Management, public relations and fundraising experience.
