ReDefiners is a pioneering non-profit organization with the goal of developing a compassionate community of global citizens, who are both economically and socially responsible, through world language and cultural enrichment. Education in global communication is paramount in developing cognitive skills, creating opportunities for upward mobility, and establishing a foundation to excel in an ever increasing globalized society. We strive to provide local language learning opportunities in Arabic, Spanish and Mandarin through our enrichment program to our children regardless of socioeconomic background.

Our team is growing! If you are an individual that is comfortable with change, skilled at multitasking, goal-oriented, proactive and looking to make a major impact through a small organization, you may be ReDefiners’ next Volunteer Coordinator.

Position Description: The Volunteer Coordinator is a dynamic leader that provides administrative assistance in coordinating volunteers for the organization and collaborates with members of the team across departments. The ideal candidate is about passionate language learning, social justice, and intercultural communication, has at least one year experience in administration, a track record of volunteerism and is seeking to gain hands-on experience with an education based non-profit organization. Great opportunity to gain hands-on experience, and hone several skills such is interpersonal communication, leadership and presentational skills while further developing a stellar resume.


  • Preferre d Bilingual; Proficient in English and Spanish or Arabic or Mandarin
  • Preferred 1-year related administrative experience
  • Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision
  • Strong leadership with the ability to develop, implement, and manage creative/innovative programs
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Complete responsibilities in a timely and thorough manner
  • Able to communicate enthusiasm about mission
  • Proactive work ethic
  • Proficient with google drive tools and database management
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage digital listings for volunteer opportunities
  • Recruit Volunteers as the first line of contact for prospective volunteers
  • Conduct volunteer orientation sessions via Google Meet (introduce volunteers to organization, services and team members)
  • Initiate background screenings for all volunteers working directly with students
  • Develop and foster a volunteer community
  • Lead volunteer recognition initiatives
  • Track & maintain record of volunteers hours
  • Develop & Provide quarterly reports on volunteer program
  • Coordinate and manage volunteer schedules for all events and programs
  • Connect volunteers with relevant department leaders
  • Issue proof of volunteer service
  • Manage strategic offboarding of volunteers

Length of Appointment:

Min. of 4-months

1-year (renewable) preferred


  • Position training and ongoing support from Program Coordinators relevant team leads
  • Training in the use of the Salesforce database for Non-Profit organizations
  • 1-Year term Coordinators gain access to paid professional certificate course series to earn a

Certificate in Volunteer Management

Key Team Collaborative Relationships:

Program Director : Collaborate regarding regular new & current programs, schedules, data sharing, annual performance review

Marketing Team Lead: Share new program descriptions to update website & produce marketing material, to inform new blog articles & Press Releases

Administrative Assistant: to delegate data entry or communication tasks

Founded by a full-time educator, parent, and advocate for language learning, ReDefiners is a non-profit organization that prides itself in being a pioneer in the early language education programing in Hillsborough County. The organization is made up of qualified teachers, international student volunteers and business professionals who are passionate about language and cultural education. We offer language classes in Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish and English to youth and adults.
