Balance Boxes

Balance Boxes is a youth led registered 501(c)3 that provides students in low-income communities with academic and enjoyable activities. Each box is created with a designated theme; this is done to ensure the boxes can be made to the child’s liking. Balance Boxes include books, educational games, school supplies, a theme-related toy, art project, and game. Boxes are also equipped with an easy to make meal and kid-friendly snack to keep the child engaged in the activity. One of the unique factors of Balance Boxes, is that each student is provided with information to register their child for free one to one virtual tutoring.
Volunteers will be outreaching to companies, raising awareness among the community, and building boxes for low-income children. Volunteers will be primarily working with their local chapter and will receive guidance/assistance from their Chapter Head and the Executive Board.

Mission Statement

Balance Boxes provides students in low-income communities with educational and enjoyable activities. Balance Boxes finds the perfect balance between enjoyable and educational activities and will put a smile on a child’s face!

Description

Balance Boxes started during the beginning of lockdown due to COVID-19 because many kids are less fortunate and do not have the available resources at home. In the 8 months of running, we have delivered over 7000 boxes all across the United States and internationally. We have partnered with numerous businesses and received in-kind and charitable donations from notable corporations such as Target and Costco. In the past, volunteers have been nominated for the PVSA Award, the Giraffe Heroes Project, Daily Point of Light Award, etc. We've received grants from Literacy for a Lifetime, America's Promise Alliance, and Hershey + WE. Our organization continues to grow across the world, and we are excited for the future!
