Follows and Enforces Guidelines of Contract, His House Rules and Policies and Procedures:

The Assistant House Manager reports to the HHFH Group Facilitator and is responsible to implement the goals and objectives of His House for Her in conjunction with the Executive Director. The Assistant House Manager will help give direction and leadership toward the achievement of the day to day program implementation and philosophy and mission. The Assistant House Manager will help to supervise and guide the residents and oversee the house rules and the program’s effectiveness and assuring His House’s standards of quality.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct and Guidelines:

  • Must be free of any use of alcohol and all controlled substances, except those taken as prescribed by her doctor, throughout the duration of contract. Any medication prescribed by a physician should be reported to His House director as soon as possible.
  • Responsible for helping the Executive Director to lead His House for Her residents in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Executive Director to provide timely and accurate information concerning the residents and their Individual Plans for Recovery.
  • Sees that the Executive Director is kept fully informed on the behaviors of the residents and if there are issues or concerning behaviors that may jeopardize or influence others in a negative way, will report them timely and document in HHFH database and resident file when appropriate.

Follows and Enforces Guidelines of Contract, His House Rules and Policies and Procedures:

  • Administers random urine and alcohol tests on residents when needed.
  • Responsible for supervision of house and residents when HHFH management staff are not present to include any and all volunteers that may come on-site.
  • May assist in documentation in database and in resident’s file when there are behavior issues, concerns, and all drug screens.
  • May assist with documentation of any medicines that the residents may self-administer on a routine or PRN basis when present.
  • Follows His House policies and procedures for reporting any emergencies to management, authorities and/or courts

Guide and Monitor Member’s Goals:

  • May assist with the supervision of the nightly planning of the resident’s individual planners and schedules for the following day and that each resident is journaling and responsible for their own schedules.
  • May assist with the supervision of any daily requirements of the residents for their continued residency when present and available.
  • May supervise any AA/NA and Christian 12-step requirements when present.
  • May instruct residents of medical restrictions.
  • Supervise curfew and all restrictions per His House policies and house rules.
  • May assist with the facilitation of nightly His House meeting with the residents and document in database.
  • Follow all grievance procedures for the residents when applicable.
  • Discuss any problems with the house and explore solutions to resolve them with staff and residents.
  • Refer to the Executive Director on any and all financial matters concerning the residents and His House responsibilities.
  • Supply verbal direction and assist residents with an action plan when appropriate.
  • Be a positive influence and an example of Christ to the residents.
  • Teach residents daily life skills when present and appropriate.
  • Be available when present and appropriate to give suggestions, direction and to take appropriate action in matters concerning any of His House residents. In case of emergency situations, be prepared to speak with the proper authority in the situation and follow His House protocol.

Oversee Daily and/or Nightly Functions of His House:

  • Oversees and implements appropriate daily upkeep and cleanliness standards of His House to include weekly trash pick-up.
  • Coordinate chore responsibilities with residents and Executive Director.
  • Observe behavior patterns in residents and documents appropriately.
  • Helps to maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Documents timely case notes in HHFH database to include all resident issues and grievance procedures.
  • Supervises any volunteers that may be on-site when HHFH management staff are not present.
  • Reinforce signing in and out when present and appropriate for His House residents and volunteer staff.
  • Reinforce the His House contract and His House rules with residents and volunteers.
  • Clear communication with any and all management staff.
  • Immediately notify the Executive Director when any situations arise.
  • Must have daily communication with the His House Executive Director concerning any matters with regards to His House.
  • May oversee any weekend visits with His House resident and immediate family members on designated days and times on off-site property when appropriate

Regarding Rehabs, Probation and Drug/Dependency Court Communications, the House Manager:

  • May oversee probation/parole appointments when appropriate and present.
  • May pick up or deliver residents to appointments if appropriate and available.
  • Immediately report, document and communicate any and all situations to the His House Executive Director concerning residents in Drug Court or on probation.
  • May oversee drug screens and report results to court, probation and/or dependency case workers.
  • May oversee supervised visits with dependency case managers and/or visiting children of the His House resident

QUALIFICATIONS

The House Manager will be thoroughly committed to the mission of His House for Her and have proven leadership, coaching, and peer-mentor relationship experience. Specific requirements include:

  • High school education and/or equivalent
  • Preferred experience with being an active sponsor and/or peer mentor as it relates to sobriety
  • Experience and knowledge in non-profit and faith-based organizations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
  • Ability to convey the rules to the residents, volunteers and visitors of His House
  • Experience in facilitating Christian 12-step groups and journal reflections
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

The mission of His House for Her is to share the love of Jesus by providing trauma-informed practices in a supportive housing environment to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of at-risk women in recovery.

Description

His House for Her will be a 15-month supportive housing program for at-risk women in recovery. His House for Her will be able to accommodate up to 8 women.

Program components include:

  • Education to heal hurts through Temperament Education, Walking the 12 Steps with Jesus Christ, Anger Dynamics, Making Sense of Your Worth, Boundaries, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and Surrendering the Secret
  • Education in the areas of basic life skills including parenting and Financial Success
  • Employment Readiness, GED Prep, post-secondary education, or vocational training
  • Discipleship, church attendance and Bible studies
  • Healthy socialization, exercise, and nutritional planning
