OUR MISSION: Empower Voters. Defend Democracy. The League is a non-partisan political organization; it does NOT endorse or oppose political candidates or parties at any level of Government. The League encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government.
The League's history dates to the Chicago "Victory Convention" held in 1920, when the National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA) voted to rename itself as the National League of Women Voters. Since that time, there has been a Florida organization named "League of Women Voters", in some form or another, almost continuously.
The LWVOC (League of Women Voters Orange County) is a distinct community of civic-minded people who find pragmatic solutions to the problems of our time. We are not a single-issue organization. From our inception, we have taken on issues that affect the wellbeing of families and promote good governance.
We advocate through a committee structure that includes: Education, Government, Health Care, Immigration, Juvenile Justice, National Popular Vote, Natural Resources, Transportation, Voter Service and Women’s Rights. In doing so, our members gain meaningful, purposeful connections and friendships and in the process acquire social identity, legitimacy, and respect.
As we grow, our influence grows. Today, the LWVOC is the largest county League in the United States.
This is a Virtual Opportunity with no fixed address.
