About Double H Ranch

Location:

97 HIDDEN VALLEY RD, LAKE LUZERNE, NY 12846, US

Mission Statement

The mission of the Double H Ranch is to provide specialized camping and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. Our purpose is to enrich their lives and provide camp experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound. All programs are FREE of charge and capture the magic of the Adirondacks.

Description

Where is the Double H Ranch located?
The Ranch is located on 320 acres of land in Lake Luzerne, NY in the Adirondack Park. This former dude ranch sits on the shore of Lake Vanare. It is easily accessible from the Adirondack Northway (Route 87) and is approximately 50 miles north of Albany, NY.

How much does it cost to go to the Double H Ranch?
Our Residential Summer Camp and Adaptive Winter Sports Program are offered to children dealing with life-threatening illnesses and their families free of charge. The only expense the families are responsible for is transportation to and from the Ranch.

Are all of the children who come to the Double H Ranch terminally ill?
No. Children that come to the Ranch are diagnosed with the serious illnesses listed above. Because of their illness these children would be unable to attend a traditional summer camp or participate in winter sports. The focus at the Ranch is to safely provide these children with an exciting outdoor Adirondack adventure filled with love, friendship and sharing.

Who cares for the children while they are at camp?
During Summer Residential Camp there is a doctor on site 24/7 along with over a dozen volunteer nurses. There is a fully equipped infirmary, Paul's Body Shop, and we are partners with the Glens Falls Hospital, a large regional medical facility, to help up provide the best care possible to our campers. The staff is trained and equipped to handle all kinds of medical emergencies.
