Columcille is looking for a select group of volunteers who love the land and want to participate in caring for the forest and trails. They will assist the on-site park manager in these duties which might include clearing trails, adding gravel and mulch as needed, weeding, trimming, planting and general beautifying of the park. From the initial group of applicants, Work Days will be announced by the park manager inviting volunteers who can come at that time. Columcille has been closed to volunteers due to Covid, but we are beginning to open for small groups. If you are interested in fresh air, sunshine and exercise that engages with the land, please sign up for this Opportunity."
Columcille is a spiritual and ecological sanctuary, a space for contemplation, and a community devoted to nurturing the land and preserving our monumental stone works through land care projects, celebrations and educational opportunities.
Since 1979, Columcille Megalith Park has been a spiritual sanctuary consisting of 19 acres of trails, forest, and 100 monumental stones. There are two stone buildings, the St Columba Chapel and the St Oran Bell Tower. In 1995 our organization was featured in the Smithsonian Institution Information System. We are open free to the public daily dawn to dusk. We are a non-profit organization, supported by membership and donations at the gate or online. We are beginning to slowly open to events following Covid. Look for potential Opportunities to volunteer, coming soon. Also, visit Columcille.org for more information, and there is a Volunteer Group on Facebook.
We'll work with your schedule.
