Healthy Day Partners is looking for volunteers to help with planting their Grab & Grow Gardens. Once seedlings sprout, they are transplanted into nursery pots that are packaged into small garden kits. The garden kits are distributed through hunger relief agencies throughout San Diego to help low-income, food insecure, and those hit hardest by the pandemic learn how to grow their own healthy food.

Healthy Day Partners love their small but mighty family of volunteers!

Mission Statement

Improving community through environmental and wellness education.

Description

Healthy Day Partners has several current programs, including growing the first fruit trees on public land for the City pf Encinitas. This would be our main area of need, a monthly volunteer group to help monitor and maintain the fruit grove in Glen Park, Cardiff by the Sea. We also maintain the Ocean Knoll Farm, a one-acre educational farm that needs maintenance, planting, harvesting and support delivering harvests to the school district's central kitchen and to the local food pantry. The OK Farm is also the home of Compost Campus where we offer free, monthly garden, compost and zero-waste education to the community. We could use volunteer support when we run larger classes that involve multi-age educational activity stations. All of these opportunities are fun, community building and educational activities. Thank you for your consideration!
