Sawa Sawa Collection is a nonprofit fashion brand handcrafted by artisan women in Kenya. We need volunteers with experience in branding, marketing and social media. Our goal is to increase our brand awareness and get into mainstream retail stores. We buy directly from the artisan women in rural Kenya. The more we buy from them, the more economic impact we have on the women and the more money raised for our menstrual kits program. Our main product focus is the hand woven organic sisal fiber bags #kiondo trimmed with leather.
A matching volunteer would have extensive knowledge of fashion marketing, retail buying, branding, website e-commerce and social media.
Our mission is to empower artisan women in Kenya make a sustainable living using skills handed down through generations in weaving, beading, basketry and art. They use locally sourced, organic, natural materials to create fashion accessories and art. Proceeds empower women and provide girls with menstrual kits to help them stay in school.
Description
The idea was born in 2014. Helping women has been a huge part of Anne's and Catherine's lives. Sawa Sawa was registered as a nonprofit in 2019. Our programs involve empowering women. Each village has unique needs and providing school age girls with menstrual kits to help them stay in school.
