COA works to gain insight on the aging community and inform decisions on transportation, medical care, and caregiving. The COA fulfills this mission by working with residents and community organizations to understand the needs of older adults and their caregivers, supporting local aging-related events, holding monthly public meetings and reporting its findings to the Louisa County Board of Supervisors.
COA is searching for a volunteer board member who lives in Louisa County to participate in-person monthly meetings, attend events, and promote COA in the community. Must live in Louisa County and be 18 years or older.

Description
For almost 50 years, JABA has provided a variety of services to help seniors remain as healthy, active, and independent as possible. Programs include information and referral, education and advocacy, and direct services such as adult care centers, community centers, senior meal programs, care coordinators, health care and health promotion programs, health insurance counseling, volunteer and employment opportunities, and conflict resolution for people in nursing homes and other long-term health care settings. Jaba believes that aging is a lifelong process, which is most successfully done in intergenerational communities.
